Malaysian Night was on Wednesday and it went better than expected. We’ve been planning this event for a month already. Basically WMU will host an International Education Week (IEW) annually. MASA is pretty much one of the association that participates in em.

This year was pretty much setting the bar for MASA’s IEW events. Last year was great but heck, we wanted to improve and to add on additional traditions and cultures of Malaysia to showcase towards WMU. Everyone in MASA did a great job. We even invited a few VIPs to give speeches.

About 3 representatives from the Malaysian Students Department of Chicago drove from Chicago to WMU to check out our event. That was really nice of them to support us. Thank you again.

Sue Lynn, E, Jon and Chyn Wey started prepairing the event at 7:30 a.m.! They were moving and taking care of things. I had class till 6 p.m. and I was pretty worried about them to be honest because we didn’t have enough man power but when I got there at about 6:30 p.m. everyone was busy doing their thing and the place was beautiful!

 It was super tough for me because I felt like there was a certain standard that I had to live up to because I mean I was dancing an Indain dance and we had to represent the Indian Malaysian population. Hopefully it was ok.

Overall the event went well. Better than expected. About 30 people had to stand up and that was a shocker for us because last year the room was just enough for everyone. So yah. I can’t wait for next years Malaysian Night again.

 We’re having elections for MASA yet again. I wonder if I should run. Humm…
